Tonight I walked three miles
One of them was in your old shoes
I have to admit it was rather painful
When finished, I spent time praying for you
The initial two miles I walked
My thoughts were mostly about me
Then when I put on your old shoes
It was amazing the things I could see
I’m trusting God to give you a new pair
You know those old things are really pretty bad
Just before I finished my final lap
I realized they were making you sad
As compassion filled my heart
I tearfully began to pray
For a moment I was totally wrapped in His presence
Now I’m confident your new pair of shoes is on the way
