How Delicate You Are

Found in a field
I admired the sheer beauty of your wings

My first thought was to be careful
Among a few other things

Although tempted to grab you with my hands
I was reminded I need a special net

Retracting I admired your beauty
Realizing it wasn’t your time to be caught yet

When it’s your time
I pray you will be handled with great care

The most beautiful butterfly I’ve ever seen
So fragile, elegant and rare
